Sport Massage

Sports massage originally referred to treatments provided before or after a workout or event. However, it is now widely recognized by active individuals as a massage style that addresses tension, pain, knots, delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), injury rehabilitation, and event preparation or recovery.
At Deepfeet, our sports massage therapists hold at least a Diploma of Remedial Massage, with many also trained in advanced techniques like Dry Needling, Cupping, and Taping.
Our Myotherapists specialize in sports massage for conditions such as sciatica, frozen shoulder, common running injuries like shin splints, nerve and joint mobility issues, and tendinopathies. They can also assess movement patterns, identify muscle imbalances or hypertension, and develop corrective exercise plans to help you optimize your training and recovery.

What to Expect During a Sports Massage in Brisbane
Your sports massage therapist will begin by discussing your concerns, conducting an assessment, and providing feedback based on their findings. It’s best to wear loose, comfortable clothing to facilitate the assessment process—shorts and a t-shirt or activewear that allows easy movement work well. Your therapist may assess your movements before and after the treatment and may ask you to change positions during the session.
After establishing your goals and completing the assessment, your therapist will explain the recommended treatment options. If ongoing sessions are needed, they will create a tailored treatment plan for you. Following your session, your therapist will check in with you to evaluate the treatment’s effectiveness and may provide additional resources, such as home exercise.
